The Gospel Gleaner

For the Love of the Lord, His Word, and His Church

Guy Hester

Guy F. Hester is the senior-most staff writer for the Gospel Gleaner, serving since its beginning.  He has been preaching the gospel since 1950, preaching extensively in local and meeting work in the United States and logging more than 4,000 hours in the pulpit.  Guy has also served in mission work in Guyana, South America, where he helped to found and direct the Vreed-en-Hoop School of the Bible.

Guy Hester is also one of men trained at the feet of brother Gus Nichol’s in Jasper, Alabama.  Yet, Guy’s father, the lamented S.F. Hester, is credited with having the greatest influence upon him as a preacher and a man.

Brother Hester is also the author of a book of sermons titled, “Keep It Simple, Son.”  The book was so titled because these were the words spoken to Guy by his father upon his decision to preach the gospel.

Brother Hester went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2013.  The January 2014 issue is a special tribute issue to our departed brother.
